Chesed
Opportunities

The CSFA Hesed Committee, chaired by dedicated member Susan Leimsider, offers monthly opportunities to volunteer in the neighborhood and larger community.

Among the organizations we have worked with are:

  • DOROT, an organization that alleviates social isolation and provides needed services to older adults.

  • The Bowery Mission, which has served homeless and hungry New Yorkers since 1879, and is recognized as one of the most effective organizations in the city helping those in need.

  • The Church of St. Francis Xavier, which every Sunday opens its doors to the needy and feeds them at its soup kitchen.

  • Volunteers for America, working to provide school supplies for children.

Check back here for upcoming volunteer opportunities and Hesed projects.

CSFA will be participating in two activities in the upcoming months.
