Our Leadership

Pam Wolf, President

Pam joined the synagogue when she and her husband Doug moved to NYC from Washington DC in 2008. She has served on various committees and on the board of the synagogue and now serves as Vice President ( responsible for programming and special events). Pam is a retired U.S. Public Health Service Officer having served in Washington, Ghana and Indonesia. Her interests are traveling, bicycle touring and most outdoor activities. Throughout most of the pandemic Pam studied Mishnah via Zoom with the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem.

Leslie Penn, Executive Director

Leslie is a second-generation member of the congregation. His father, Murray Penn, was a member of the synagogue’s Board of Trustees. Leslie is married to Fern, and is the
father of Joshua — a third-generation CSFA member, who became bar mitzvah at the synagogue. Prior to becoming the Executive Director, Leslie served as CSFA's president for ten years.

Beth Farber, Vice President

Beth has been a member of CSFA for eleven years. She grew up in Brooklyn and spent many years in Baltimore before returning to NYC. She is an attorney who has devoted her career to the defense of the indigent. She has three grown children.

Russ Winer, Vice President

Russ and his wife Toby have been members of CSFA since moving back to New York in 2003. He is Professor of Marketing at the Stern School of Business, NYU, and has been a faculty member at Columbia, Vanderbilt, and the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Massachusetts native and roots for all of the Boston teams. They have two grown children.

Charlotte Fainblatt, Vice President

.Charlotte and her husband Marty Z"L became residents of Greenwich Village in 1994, joining CSFA shortly afterward.  Charlotte served as the Executive Director of The American Committee for Shenkar College in Israel for 30 years.  She has two daughters, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Leeor Sabbah, Vice President

Leeor has been a member of CSFA since 2006.  She is the former Chair of the Board of the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, NC, which was founded by her parents, Chico and Zmira Sabbah, z’l.  Leeor was a Marketing Consultant in the field of Contemporary American Craft for over 30 years, which followed professional work in Reinsurance, Special Education and Speech Pathology.  She has a strong connection to Israel, visiting frequently.  At CSFA Leeor volunteers regularly and serves as chair of the Religious Life Committee.

Lynn Kutner, Secretary

Lynn and her husband Richard have been members of CSFA for over 30 years. Both her sons had their (very lively) bar mitzvahs here. She is an accomplished chef, and has taught bread-baking and pastry-making for 40 years across New York. 

Robert Reicher, Treasurer

Bob has been a member of CSFA only since 2016, but Bob has continued his family's tradition with CSFA.  His grandparents were CSFA members for many years.  Bob has a solo law practice representing small businesses, artists and not-for-profit entities in their business transactions.
