Our Leadership

Robert Reicher, President

Bob joined CSFA in 2016, but his family has a long history with this shul. Bob's grandparents were members for 20 years. Most Shabbat mornings Bob can be found sitting next to the memorial plaques of his parents and grandparents. In this way, the family is still celebrating together every week. Bob served as the synagogue's Treasurer for three years before stepping up to the presidency.  Bob is an attorney in solo practice representing primarily small businesses and non-profits in their contractual relations and strategic planning.  Since 1992, Bob has served on the Board of Directors and as general counsel to Lifebeat, Inc.- the Music Industry Fights AIDS.

Leslie Penn, Executive Director

Leslie is a second-generation member of the congregation. His father, Murray Penn, was a member of the synagogue’s Board of Trustees. Leslie is married to Fern, and is the
father of Joshua — a third-generation CSFA member, who became bar mitzvah at the synagogue. Prior to becoming the Executive Director, Leslie served as CSFA's president for ten years.

Beth Farber, Treasurer

Beth has been a member of CSFA for eleven years. She grew up in Brooklyn and spent many years in Baltimore before returning to NYC. She is an attorney who has devoted her career to the defense of the indigent. She has three grown children.

Charlotte Fainblatt, Vice President

.Charlotte and her husband Marty Z"L became residents of Greenwich Village in 1994, joining CSFA shortly afterward.  Charlotte served as the Executive Director of The American Committee for Shenkar College in Israel for 30 years.  She has two daughters, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Lynn Kutner, Secretary

Lynn and her husband Richard have been members of CSFA for over 30 years. Both her sons had their (very lively) bar mitzvahs here. She is an accomplished chef, and has taught bread-baking and pastry-making for 40 years across New York.
